Below is me with Lakota, Auntie Mim's very huge, fluffy, gentle dog.
Below is me with my Auntie Mim. I hadn't seen her for over 20 years but we got on really well and she was so kind and thoughtful. Thanks Auntie Mim you're a star.
During our stay we visited a gold rush town called Charters Towers and stayed with Auntie Mim's lovely friends Kath and John. They were really hospitable and we had a great time.
This is the court house at a tiny mining town called Ravenswood. The people in the picture are also visitors. What a great beard!
This is one of the 2 pubs in the town - it's supposed to be haunted!
Here's the family.
Here is a gorgeous sea horse in the Townsville aquarium. They also have a turtle hospital here and they'd released 2 turtles that morning back to the wild.
We visited Magnetic Island and fed the wild but tame rock wallaby's.
This wallaby has a joey in her pouch - how cute!

This is the jeep that we saw Magnetic Island in with a family of dutch people and a lady from Texas.
This is Nic chilling out on Magnetic Island. It's a hard life!
We got to feed some lorakeets and as you can see we got covered in them. Luckily they gave us hats to wear - some more attractive than other! My Mum nearly wet herself she was laughing so much.
Here's the sunset.
Here's a cheeky possum that we saw on the way back to the boat.

We watched the sunset on the beach with cocktails. It was my Mum and Dad's 44th wedding anniversary so it was nice to celebrate in style.
We've had such a great 2 weeks and we can't thank Mim enough. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone yesterday as we don't know when we'll see my M&D again or where. We're now back in our van after spending 2 weeks in a proper house and it feels a bit weird. Please keep following us - life is an adventure!!!
